Our crazy journey..

A sense of place.

“What started out as an online business, evolved over the years to reflect not only our wines, but our loyal customers, in providing a welcoming space, amazing service and experiences, showcasing our passion for what we do”.
– jodie & damien

Jodie and Damien were driven to create amazing local wines that they, themselves, wanted to drink and enjoy with friends. By choosing the best vineyards to work with, along with their experiences both on home soil and abroad, they set about sourcing the best fruit.

HART & HUNTER started as an online business, whilst both were working for other local producers. As their needs changed, they decided to embark on creating a welcoming cellar door space, along with the passion to create wines to match that demand.

Now in 2023, after the madness of the pandemic, along with the annual challenges of what mother nature throws at them in terms of weather conditions, they are stronger, have the best team and prepared for more years of wonderful wines.

2013

As the business grows, so does their family. Fruit sampling with #1. The search for a physical cellar door tasting space begins in earnest.

2014

Renovations begin on the quaint cellar door space at Deaseys Road, Pokolbin. As does an upswing in production to increase their wine offerings from 2 Semillons, a Chardonnay and a single Shiraz.

2017

The first of three consecutive drought years, which are tough on all forms of agriculture. Having worked hard to grow their portfolio of wines, start a wine club for their members, the focus continues to be on sourcing outstanding vineyards as they continue to grow. They employ an Assistant Winemaker and start contract winemaking for great mates.

2019

Damien & Jodie move to lease their own winery space, at the historically renowned  Lindemans Ben Ean site, where some of the most outstanding wines of the past century were crafted. History made right there.

2023

Hart & Hunter continue to share the excitement of the wine calender. Starting with Vintage in early January and culminating in their Annual White Table Long Lunch held in the vineyard at cellardoor. Their love of the Hunter Valley, their small and fabulous team encourage you all to visit them on your next visit to the Hunter!
